HomeHero is a licensed non-medical home care provider that leverages smart technology and human compassion to extend the health system into the home.

HOW IT WORKS:

Use the HomeHero app to browse our team of caregivers (or “Heroes”), each with a profile featuring references, skills, bios, and HD video introductions. Stay up to date on the health status of your loved one at home with real-time access to daily GPS check-ins, observational notes, shift verification, photos, videos and more — all accessible through the HomeHero app.

The HomeHero app is also one of the first to utilize Apple’s open-source CareKit software, which we use to curate observational health data collected in the home (note: no private health information is sent to Apple, and will never be distributed without your consent — HomeHero is a HIPAA-compliant home care agency).

Every Hero is our employee, meaning we take care of training, background checks, health insurance, workman’s compensation, employer taxes and state registration fees so you don’t have to. We are fully HIPAA-compliant and provide $4 million in theft and professional liability insurance at no extra cost to you.

HomeHero was launched in May, 2013 by Kyle Hill and Mike Townsend, originally as a service for their own families. The company is headquartered in Santa Monica, CA and has raised $23 million in venture funding from Graham Holdings, Social+Capital Partnership, Science Inc, The Launch Fund, Tencent Holdings, Techstars and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
